Know more about Lobuche Peak climbing

Lobuche refers to a beautiful mountain in the Khumbu region of Nepal that lies close to Khumbu glacier and Lobuche village. The mountain has two main peaks – Lobuche East and Lobuche West. While Lobuche East at an elevation of 6119 meters is classified as a trekking peak, Lobuche West at an elevation of 6145 meters is classified as an expedition peak. For climbing up the peaks, a special permit should be obtained from the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) of Nepal.  Lobuche East being a trekking/ climbing peak is more popular amongst the climbers than Lobuche West. There is a long deeply notched ridge between the east and west peaks but a steep drop along a long-distance makes it impossible to approach Lobuche west peak from the Lobuche east peak. Lobuche East peak was first ascended by Neilson Laurence and Ang Gyalzen Sherpa on April 25, 1984. While Lobuche west was first climbed by South Shoulder in 1955. If you want to do another peak climbing in the same region then, Mera Peak Climbing - will be the ideal option

Talking about the difficulty level of Lobuche peak climbing

Lobuche peak climbing is amongst the difficult peak climbing experience. Its peak rises 20000 feet above which should be treated with much respect and courtesy. Technically speaking, the peak is not so challenging for novice climbers or climbers with a certain level of experience. The peak is rated PD+ for its difficulty level. However, no mountains are to be taken for granted. With such high altitude, exposure to risk and unpredictable weather conditions, peak climbing is always challenging and risky.
